As best friends, Glory and Killian had loved each other in one way or another since they were kids. When they got older, that love began to evolve into something deeper.

But then a scandal overtook their town, changing their relationship status from best friends to enemies.

Killian is all sunshine and golden-boy vibes while Glory is quiet and focused on soccer, tortured by small-town gossip.

As the end of their senior year approaches, Glory plans to move across the country, leaving behind everyone who has hurt her, including Killian. When he decides enough is enough and tries to make amends, Glory chooses to take the leap, trusting him to catch her, transforming their relationship for a second time.

Until Killian and Glory are forced to confront what tore them apart in the first place. Can they ever go back to the way they were, or can they maybe become something else, something more?

First off, this definitely needs to be categorized as new adult romance, not just romance. There are definitely some tough topics and spice, but the main characters are still in high school for the majority of the book. I kept teetering back and forth between “dang these kids are so mature for high schoolers” and “well that was some dumb high school stuff”

All that to say, the premise of this book was great and there were some really good parts, but there was some overdoing it on the descriptions and I don’t know, *spoiler alert* but I thought Glory forgave Killian way too easily. The shared sister part was a bit too much too, although I do like how the strained relationships between mother and daughter and father and son weren’t sugar-coated.

The side characters were amazing and everyone needs a Cassidy in their lives. And Mr. Purcell was the best book dad!

Overall, not a bad read, but I did feel like I had to try hard to pick it back up at times.

Thank you to Grey's Promotions and K.M. Galvin for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
