Goodbye month of love, hello spring! Chapter three of 2023 and here’s what’s up for the lucky month.
First up is an ARC of Vacation Wars by Meghan Quinn. If you’ve been around long, you know I love me some Meghan Quinn books so when I saw this one as a “Read Now” on NetGalley back in December, I had to jump on it. I wanted to wait until closer to release day though to read it so here we are. I’ve heard such good things already!
I added a challenge for myself last month to read 6 memoirs this year so first up is Delete That by John Christ. We saw him back in June in Dallas and laughed our butts off the whole show so when we heard he was coming to Fort Worth in March, we immediately bought tickets for ourselves and my dad and his girlfriend as Christmas presents. His memoir came out in October and I bought it on sale at the end of 2022 so I’m excited to read that before his show on the 18th.
I also joined in on a mARCh challenge where I’ve committed to trying to read 6 ARCs in March to try and knock down my list. I’ve got Vacation Wars, Madame Pommery, French Holiday, The Last Word, Ciao for Now, and A Love Catastrophe on my hopefuls.
Hubby and I are going to buddy read A Court of Thorns and Roses. Yep, you read that right. I’m reading fantasy. And finally giving into the ACOTAR temptation. I tried Throne of Glass and couldn’t do it so hopefully, this one will jive better with me. I imagine hubby will fly through it like he did ToG.
March’s pick for the #12Classicsin12 challenge is The Secret Garden. Keeping with my theme, I’ll be doing this one in audiobook format and hopefully, I can pay better attention than I did was Pride and Prejudice last month.
I’m joining a buddy read with the same girls I read Bright Side with in January, but this time we’re reading book two, Gus, and I cannot wait to get back into that world.
If I can get to it, my 12 Challenge pick is Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter which was suggested to me by my friend Miralis. I’ve tried another Slaughter and it was too gory for me so hopefully this one will be ok.
I’m also jumping back into @samstackbooksbookclub with this month’s pick which is What the Wind Knows. This has been on my kindle since February 2019, I’m ashamed to say, so I’m excited to finally read it.
Lastly, I’m still working my way through Harry Potter and I’ll soon be onto book four, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
It’s so cute how I said I wasn’t going to sign up for more ARCs at the end of last month’s post. I ended up signing up for 17 more…….
Do we think I can manage 15 books this month? Yikes!
