Mini Review: In An Instant

In An Instant

By Suzanne Redfearn

4/5 stars

Read dates: 1.10.2023 to 1.20.2023

Pub Date: 3.1.2020

I apparently purchased this ebook back in February of 2020 as the Kindle First Reads that month and it’s been sitting in my Kindle library since then. I knew nothing about this book going into it but saw @samstacksbooksbookclub was hosting it this month and that I owned it already so I decided to join the read. It was not at all what I was expecting.

“Desperate people do things they wouldn’t normally do.”

I was not ready for the intensity of this book. It is definitely one that everyone should read to keep in perspective how we should treasure every day and all of our relationships. Everything can be over in an instant and you never really know how you’ll act in life or death situations. While it was a sad read at times, it was also eye-opening, humorous, real, and inspiring.

My only issue with the book was that the last third didn’t match the tone of the rest of the book and felt a bit forced to tie up loose ends.

TW: car accident, death, neglect, disability, abuse, survival story, cheating
