I definitely caught the reading bug in 2022 and don't plan to stop any time soon. In October of 2021, I had set my reading goal of 32 books by October 2022 (since I had turned 32. However, by December 2021, I had already read 14 books meaning I only had 18 left for 2022. Which is actually quite laughable now, but at the time was a little intimidating since I hadn't read more than 10 books in a decade. So once I passed that goal by April, I decided to change the goal to 50. Aaaaand I ended up December 31st with 84 books read.
I was considering going for 100 books this year, but not knowing what life has planned for us, I settled at 75 and will adjust from there. I hope I get a great reading year in again!
I've also joined some book clubs and challenges. Instagram had a fun template going around where 12 friends each suggested a book and you read them throughout the year - the "12 books in 12 months recommended by 12 friends" challenge. I'm excited to expand my genres and read some suggested books.
My Booksta friend, @samstacksbooks, is also hosting a monthly book club and a "12 Classics in 12 Months" challenge and I've joined both. I attempted to read through some classics at the end of 2022 but that lasted all of one month so I'm hoping with some accountability, I'll be able to do it.
There was another challenge going around that I had to jump on which was the "23 books in 2023" challenge. I wrote about what I chose for that here. I'm such a mood reader though, so we'll see how this goes! Haha!
I'm also a part of the Azle Moms Book Club which meets in person once a month here where I live and I typically read those books as well. I'll also be looking at doing Buddy Reads with Booksta friends and too many ARCs to count.
2023 will have me being a busy little reading bee, but I'm excited to see where my reading journey takes me this year!
